As we all know, darkness resides in the heart of every living creature. Some are more vulnerable to its influence, and others reign over it easily. But it never truly goes away, not really. In fact, when nurtured, it will grow and have a life of its own. Taking the form of actions, emotions or even ambitions, it exists only to destroy.

Deep in your hearts, you know that the Shade is a live projection of that darkness. You also know that your ways have always been in tune with nature, not against. Certainly, you do not have the capability to manifest evil. A Weevile may be able to wield the darkness well, but it is not evil.

The Shade

[/b] is the name you have given to the darkness plaguing your land and turning your loved ones. You do not know the motives of The Shade, or what drives it to do what it does, or even when it will strike next, but you know that if you stop struggling for one moment, it could be you it comes for next.


[*]When a Pokemon is already taken over by The Shade, it is referred to as Shaded Pokemon. While they have no outward indication of being turned upon glance, you will notice very quickly that they are in fact Shaded Pokemon. These creatures display little to no conscience and live only to die or kill the other. They are relentless and ruthless. The greater Shaded will even have the authority to command the lesser Shaded and invoke teamwork. It is unknown as to how exactly a Pokemon becomes a shade, but some might say that the weaker your heart is to the influence of darkness, the greater your chances are of turning.


[*]The Shaded are Immune to the Status Ailments Sleep, Paralysis, and Poison. They even have unique moves you will never find on any normal Pokemon. They are also of a higher average level, and are bigger too.


[*]The only known way to purify extinguish the Shade and even purify The Shaded is by using Fairy-Type Moves on the infected Pokemon once they are weakened (v25%). However, Fairy Pokemon are the first thing Shaded Pokemon will go after. This is the number one reason why Fairy Types are so scarce in the wild these days.


[*]The Shaded are not to be confused with genuine Dark-Type Pokemon. Any Type can be taken over by the Shade equally. Most of you may hate the Stigma behind the Dark-Type pokemon. Most of you may even hate looking at them because they are a constant reminder of your tragic past...Or most of you accept them as your kin and treat them fairly as any other. It's all up to you. But remember that someday you might be in peril and a Dark-Type Pokemon might be there to save you.
